How Much Does a Paved Driveway Cost in Sri Lanka?

There is no single price: the cost of a paved driveway depends on its area, the paver design, the ground preparation it needs, and whether you want installation. This guide explains each part of the price and what to send us for an accurate quote.

What sets the price of a paved driveway?

Eight things decide what a driveway costs:

    1. Area. The number of square feet to pave. This is the starting point for every quote.
    2. Design. Pavers differ in size, shape and colour, so the number of pieces per square foot and the price per piece both change with the design you choose.
    3. Quantity. The total number of pieces, including a few extra for cuts at edges and corners.
    4. Ground preparation. Digging out, levelling and compacting a firm base. Ground that is soft, uneven or already covered with concrete takes more work.
    5. Edging and drainage. Edge restraints stop the pavers from spreading, and the surface needs a slope so monsoon rain runs off instead of pooling.
    6. Shape of the driveway. Curves, corners and obstacles such as drains and gate posts mean more cut pieces.
    7. Installation. Whether you buy the pavers only or have us lay them as well.
    8. Delivery. The distance from our factory in Puttalam to your site, and the size of the order.

How many pavers does a driveway need?

Multiply the area in square feet by the pieces per square foot for your design.

Example: a driveway 10 feet wide and 30 feet long is 300 square feet. Our Rhombus paver takes 2.55 pieces per square foot, so the driveway needs 765 pieces before cuts.

These designs are recommended for driveways and garages:

    DesignPieces per sq ft
    Rhombus2.55
    Zig Zag Plaine3.8
    Zig Zag SL3.8

The coverage chart lists the figure for every design we make.

Supply only, or supply and installation?

We quote either way. This is what each one covers:

Supply only suits you if you already have a contractor you trust. With supply and installation, one team is responsible for the materials and the work, so there is no question of who is at fault if something is wrong.

Interlock pavers or poured concrete: what affects the cost?

The cheapest option on the day is not always the cheapest over the life of the driveway. These are the cost factors that differ:

How to get an accurate quote

Send us these details by the contact form, phone or WhatsApp:

    • The length and width of the driveway in feet, or a rough sketch with measurements.
    • A few photos of the area, including the current surface.
    • The design you like, if you have chosen one.
    • Your town or village, so we can include delivery.
    • Whether you want supply only, or supply and installation.
    • What will use the driveway: cars only, or heavier vehicles too.

We then arrange a free site inspection to confirm the measurements and the ground, and send you a quote.

    Why don't we publish prices?

Our prices go up and down over time, and every driveway is different: the design, the quantity, the ground and the distance all change the price. A price list would be out of date quickly, so we quote each order.

    Frequently asked questions

How much does a paved driveway cost in Sri Lanka?

We don't publish a fixed price list. Our prices go up and down over time, and the price of an order depends on what you order: the design, the quantity and whether you need installation. Send us your area and design and we will quote for your order.

Why do two driveways of the same size get different quotes?

Because size is only one part of the price. The design, the ground preparation, edging and drainage, and the delivery distance can all differ between two driveways of the same area.

    Do you deliver outside Puttalam?

Yes. We supply and install island-wide, including Colombo, Kandy and Galle. Delivery depends on the distance and the size of the order, and it is included in your quote.

How long does it take to pave a driveway?

It depends on the area and how much ground preparation is needed. We give you a timeline with your quote, after the site inspection.
