Paving Blocks in Sri Lanka: Which Design for Each Area?

Paving blocks, also called paving stones or pavers, are laid side by side to pave verandas, paths, garages and gardens. The right design depends on where it goes. Below, our 13 outdoor designs are grouped by the areas we recommend them for.

How do you choose a paving block design?

Start with where the blocks will go. A garage floor carries a car, a garden path carries people, and stepping stones sit on their own in grass. Each design in our range is recommended for particular areas, listed below with how many pieces it takes per square foot. Many designs suit more than one area, so they appear in more than one list.

To work out how many blocks you need, multiply your area in square feet by the figure in the table. Our coverage chart explains the calculation.
